Hello everyone! Meet Kan and Aequitas!


They are the first, and only, Tokotas at Sunstorm Cattery (because gosh dangit I was so sick of drawing cats all the time that apparently I went crazy and decided dogs/wolves were a good idea).







Like all of my characters, they have their own origin story, and it goes like this:

Sharky (OC an Founder of SunStorm Cattery) is in Canada for a 1st ANNUAL HOLIDAY SHOW way back several years ago when a Northern Indian tribe member recognizes her as one of the Southern Indian elite (you know, despite not having a tribe to belong to anymore). The northern tribe member mentions that he was on a journey when he found a couple stray pups. They slowed him down immensely as well as needed extra strokes of luck to hunt food for them as well. He had had them for about two weeks at that point and had just come across civilization. 
Sharky decides to take them entirely with the idea of either selling them or keeping them only to cart around heavy loads for longer distances. In Texas, they wouldn't be too comfortable anyways with 100+ degree weather during the summertime.

But then they moved to Colorado, and suddenly, the pups became very, VERY useful.

The two Tokotas that are kept on Sunstorm Cattery serve many purposes. Far from Alaska, though, they mostly serve as cattery pets.
They help satisfy/add variety for the staff and help train the cats to be tolerant of other giant predatory animals. Because of their high stamina and unwavering loyalty to humans (by nature of being dogs) the backup rangers often borrow them to traverse the snow-capped, mountainous areas on the north side of the cattery or to run down a wild cat for capture.

Kan 19392 

 Big loveable floofball. Loves a good cuddle. A good therapy dog for the humans and generally stays in the main cattery building without straying past the central area border. If he leaves the central area on his own, it's almost always because something is wrong.

Aequitas 9480

 Good Moral Compass. Pretty independent for a dog. Usually prefers to stay in the company of cats that are on the move, be they ranked, messengers, or the bachelor pack, with the exception that during the spring, he stays with the main pride to help herd and protect any stray cubs.
